In 2009, after watching extended family scramble to pay for an unexpected funeral, Martin Eichhorn made a career change he never planned to make. He earned his Illinois Life Insurance Producer License, built a relationship with Lincoln Heritage Life Insurance Company, and started doing one thing well: sitting at kitchen tables with Illinois families, explaining final expense insurance honestly, and only writing policies that genuinely fit the family across from him.
Sixteen years later, Golden Memorial / Martin Eichhorn & Associates operates across eight states — Illinois, Wisconsin, Virginia, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, California, and Florida — with a team of more than 100 agents. Martin still personally interviews every new agent. He still personally reviews complex cases. And he still spends multiple days a week meeting Illinois families face-to-face.
In 2018, Martin founded the Chicago Life Training Center, an Illinois Department of Insurance-approved pre-licensing school, so the next generation of compassionate insurance agents had a place to learn the craft properly — including the parts that matter most: how to listen, how to explain, and when to walk away from a sale that isn't right.
